WINGS FALL SHORT IN HOME OPENER

ARLINGTON, TX– The Dallas Wings opened up their second season in Arlington, losing to the Lynx in a close match 89-87. After being down by 12 at the half, the Wings came back strong when Courtney Paris got the bucket to put the Wings up by one. 30 seconds later, Paris stole the ball off Minnesota to give Skylar Diggins-Smith an open lane to put the team up by three.

The game that entailed 15 lead changes went down to the wire. With 1:40 left in the game, Allisha Gray hit the jump shot to tie the game for the 11th time of the night, but the Lynx answered back, and finished the game behind the line when Maya Moore hit the shot to give the Lynx a two-point edge.

Skylar Diggins-Smith led the team for the night recording her first 20-point game with 22 points. She also led the team in assists dishing out eight, a season high.

Rookie Allisha Gray recorded 15 points, the second highest for the night and a season high. It was the second time she scored double figures for the season.

The Wings hit the road for a two-game series, before returning back to Arlington to face the Indiana Fever on May 30. Fans can purchase their tickets now by calling 817.469.9464 or by visiting www.dallaswings.com.
