Canadian international Cyle Larin was named the No. 1 player in the 2016 MLSsoccer.com 24 Under 24 presented by EA SPORTS. Chosen by a panel of top soccer media members and the MLSsoccer.com editorial staff, the annual list ranks the 24 most promising and talented players in MLS all under the age of 24. This season’s ranking also includes a total of 16 newcomers to the list and 10 Homegrown Players, the most ever in 24 Under 24 history.
FC Dallas landed a league-high four players on the list with all four falling in the top 11, led by Kellyn Acosta. In his fourth MLS season, FC Dallas midfielder Acosta finishes at No. 4 in this year’s rankings, with the Homegrown Player registering two goals and five assists in 2016 for the Supporters’ Shield leaders. The versatile 21-year-old has also featured on the international stage, earning a call-up and start in U.S. Men’s National Team World Cup qualifying play.
