Mavericks telecast wins Lone Star Emmy

DALLAS-FOX Sports Southwest’s coverage of the Dallas Mavericks NBA game on Martin Luther King Day honoring the slain civil rights leader was awarded an Emmy for Live Sports Event. The awards ceremony took place on October 17 at the Palladium Ballroom at Gilley’s in Dallas. The telecast, produced by Tom Stoner and directed by Clay Armstrong, featured in-game vignettes of several
Mavericks players and coaches expressing how Dr. King influenced their lives and his impact on society. It marked the seventh consecutive year since the inception of the Lone Star Emmys that FOX Sports Southwest won the Live
Sports category.

Sharing the Emmy award with Stoner and Armstrong were Play-by-Play announcer Mark Followill, Analyst Bob Ortegel, Associate Producers Dave Keeney, Eric Delley, Mike McTighe and Bruce Deck, along with Mavericks Director of Broadcasting Dave Evans, Mavericks Director of Production Tom Ward and Fox Sports Southwest Executive Producer Mike Anastassiou.
