PicImg_20th_Annual_GLAAD_5b9aClay Aiken confirms that he has been signed to Decca Records. Following the announcement, it is revealed that the runner-up of “American Idol” season two is also prepping a new studio album which is expected to be released in 2010.

“Clay Aiken signs record deal with Universal Music’s Decca Records,” so a statement on his official website read. “Expect new music in the first half of 2010! Keep checking back here for more details to come.”

Decca Records is the home for the likes of Sting, Boyz II Men, Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, Branford Marsalis, Rufus Wainwright, Morrissey, Paula Cole and Sonya Kitchell among others.

Rumor that Clay Aiken parted ways with RCA Records emerged since February. The speculation started swirling in the media after Aiken’s name, message board and press materials are no longer found on the label’s official website. His absence from the opening of the “American Idol” Experience at Disney World also added more fuel to the report.

That’s cool. I like Clay Aiken and was wondering when he would have a new cd.

A lot of people don’t even realize that Clay has four CD’s plus a Sony Legend Best of album, not to mention the singles and the EP’s.

I can’t wait to hear that glorious voice singing some new music and with a label that will truly appreciate his vocal artistry.
